- Invest only with proven winners – people we know well who have a successful track record of success within their area of expertise.
- Keep it Simple - invest in “bread and butter” industries. Avoid start-ups and turnarounds.
- Location – invest in businesses located within our regional trade territory.
- Investment Structure - make investments only at compelling values and investment terms. Require that the Bluestem investment and the entrepreneurial team are "on the same side of the desk" with the investment structure. We "win and lose together."
When an investment opportunity satisfies our initial investment criteria, we perform extensive due diligence to ensure the business plan and industry have excellent long-term prospects.
